Effective communication lies at the heart of every successful brand strategy. Gone are the days of traditional marketing methods; now, brands must leverage a variety of channels and tactics to engage with their audience authentically.

If you're looking to elevate your brand's communication strategies, it's crucial to understand the best practices in the industry. Luckily, you are on the right page to grab some knowledge from experts!

For this blog post, we partnered up with Sonata Šulcė, Brand Stategist, to answer some of your burning questions on communication strategies.

So, take a notebook and a pen and get ready to bring your brand's communication to the next level!

Sonata, what role does social media play in brand strategy?

Huge, but with one 'if' condition. We should remember that social media isn't just about posting but building communities. Especially for small and medium businesses, startups, entrepreneurs, and personal brands, social media is critical for engaging with audiences, sparking conversations, and fostering authentic connections. Lastly, remember that social media offers a cost-effective way to connect with your audience. :)

LinkedIn is the most popular social media platform for businesses and is a perfect tool for activating the personal profiles of CEOs and employees. Through employee advocacy, build an image of a trustworthy company and increase the brand's visibility through professionalism.

Additionally, LinkedIn is a perfect platform to showcase your expertise and share value by creating educational, personal, and, less frequently, promotional posts. Create newsletters and blog posts, share the company's insights, and give relevant knowledge to your target audience.

Picture this: you're a startup with a fantastic product, but without a clear brand strategy, you're just another fish in the sea.

Some people don't like strategy and think they're overrated. I can assure you from many real examples that a solid strategy gives you direction, purpose, and a competitive edge in a crowded market. A plan should be extended; it's not about the number of pages; it's about sharp ideas. To sum up, a marketing strategy is a long-term plan for achieving a company's goals by understanding customers' needs and creating a distinct advantage.

How can a brand's strategy impact a company's success and market positioning?

Remember to add LinkedIn to your brand’s strategy!

With its expansive network of professionals and businesses, serves as a powerful platform for fostering growth and expanding opportunities for companies while building strategies. By leveraging LinkedIn, businesses can expand their growth possibilities by:

  • Extensive search for talent recruitment.

  • Connection with potential clients or partners. LinkedIn Sales Navigator could help with that.

  • Targeted advertising which allows businesses to effectively showcase their brand, products, and services to a relevant audience.

  • LinkedIn's analytics tools that provide valuable insights into audience engagement and campaign performance, enabling businesses to refine their strategies for better results.

Great question! It's the age-old struggle to hear your message above the noise! My advice is to keep your message simple and not sugar-coat it. When my marketing agency Market Your Visions team, creates an ad or content, I tell an image of a person in the elevator scrolling a phone. This person has just 2 seconds for your message, so it should be clear and attention-grabbing.

Cut through the clutter with clear, concise messaging that speaks directly to your audience's pain points and aspirations. It's simple to say, but be honest, relatable, and caring about your customers.

What are the main challenges companies face when communicating?

Linkedist clients come to us, asking for help with their LinkedIn communication too. Usually, their main pain point is not having clear brand guidelines – no tone of voice, visual concepts or slogans. For the customer, it should be clear how you can help, what your brand looks like, and what you can offer. In this case, our task is to help brands nail those things down.

Digital versus physical – two sides of the same coin, each with rewards and quirks for startups and entrepreneurs. In the digital world, it's all about speed, scale, and savvy. From social media shout-outs to email campaigns, digital channels offer a cost-effective way to reach a global audience.

But make sure to pay attention to the power of face-to-face interactions. Going to a networking event, taking your partners to dinners, grabbing a coffee, walking, and making a business deal is a fantastic idea. I did that and had 100% of success. Human connections are essential for building trust and loyalty.

What are the differences in communication between digital and physical business?
What tips would you give companies needing help knowing where to start?

I remember the goosebumps and the enthusiasm of starting from scratch. :) My first advice from my own experience is, along the way, don't forget to have some fun. Otherwise, it's not worth it because it will be challenging.

Second advice: the product or service is crucial, but besides that, start by defining your brand's personality, values, and target audience.

Then, get laser-focused on your goals – what do you want to achieve, and how will you get there?

Finally, ensure that your business processes are efficient and clear for all team members. Document your process and make it clear and efficient because it will save time and money daily.

Last, be brave to test, iterate, and adapt.

If LinkedIn is a platform where you want to stand out and start communication about your brand, the first thing to begin is profile optimization. Optimize your company's profile to the full extent by your brand's guidelines to get 2x more profile views and professional views in the eyes of your audience and clients.

The next step is content planning and execution. Show how good your company is by sharing valuable content with attractive visuals!
